Relief India Trust Helps you Overcome the Fear of Organ Donation

Thinking about donating any organ of your body is not easy. To most people it’s the ultimate way to save another person’s life but this act of generosity is not easy for most people. To reduce the number of people who die every year while for a transplant. The Relief India Trust is an NGO that is helping most people conquer the fear of organ donation. According to a research carried out recently, it is estimated that most people lose their lives every year because most people chose not to donate their cuts. Some of are afraid of being cut up, while others are just not compassionate. The Relief India Trust is raising awareness of the importance of donating organs in India and also worldwide.

It is wonderful to give an organ to someone who needs it. This can be done in two ways; one of them is when you are dead or while still living. It is possible to donate a kidney and continue living a normal life. By doing so, you brighten the other person's life. Helping one person may seem like a drop of water in the desert, but it’s still better than living over 90 0000 patients waiting. If everyone takes time to help one person in their lifetime, there will no long list of patients waiting for organs to be donated to them.

If you are too scared to have any of your organs cut off while you are still alive, you can donate the body for medical research or any organ transplant when you die. But you should not donate any organ without the consent of your doctor. Most of the organs donated are those found in pairs, like the kidneys and eyes. Relief India Trust caters for such donations. You have to register with them first and get a card showing that you are willing to donate an organ. As the donor you have to inform your family about the decision. Your family members will report your death to the NGO once you pass on. There are also people who decide to donate some of the organs after their loved one dies in a road accident. This is easy, you simply contact the Relief India Trust and you will be advised on the steps to follow.

What are the regulations surrounding organ donation?

There is strict regulation in donation and transplant of organs. This is done to ensure that people do not get exploited. There is very high demand for organs and some doctors can remove a common mans organs without his or her consent. In India, it is illegal to sell organs but this does not stop organ vendors from encouraging poor people to do it.  The strict regulation provides protection for people who are mentally retarded and also young children.

Road to recovery after a transplant

Once a patient gets a transplant, they have to continue receiving treatment. The body is likely to have problems with the foreign organ.  The patient has to take immunosuppressant drugs to help the new organ function properly. Relief India Trust walks all the way with the patients  as they recover.
