enjoy their childhood rights like going to school simply because of
poverty and poor literacy rate. Some scholars have termed education as
the only vicious cycle of poverty breaker but less is attributed to this
saying as many children today in India don’t even afford to get basic
education! This further inhibits the poor society rising above but
rather remaining in abject poverty.
Child labor soon knocks on the door when the sole breadwinner of the family is not able to earn enough to sustain the family needs. Children are often sent out to work in very difficult conditions simply to supplement their family income and cater for the expenses. It is the right of any child to get basic education and not get subjected to early child labor but usually the society throws these rights through the window.
Relief Trust India has come in to help solve the problem by setting up welfare programs and other social services. It is sometimes referred to as the children NGO due to the fact that child rights are at the core of the objectives of the Trust. Relief India comes in to help children in a number of ways such as getting them out of difficult working environments where they are paid peanuts, give them the basic education by paying their fees and provide for their daily basic needs. Poor children in the slums barely afford their food and other basic needs leave alone paying for their school fees.
