Relief India Trust Relationship with the Government of India

Relief India Trust or any other NGO relationships with its government is critically important for the smooth performance of its operational activities. The government is the only body that can provide sophisticated resources to the NGO. A lot of times, the NGOs also depend on the government to provide them with the necessary funds in order to perform the relief work. The Relief India Trust has always given utmost importance to its relationship with the government. It is or this reasoning that they don’t have many difficulties in carrying out their routine social and relief work.

Challenges Posed by Government for the NGOs:

In order to take the state benefits by the NGO, the state government enforces several challenges. The NGOs need to tackle all those challenges intelligently so that its relationship with the government doesn't get restrained and they also get the necessary resources which they were looking for. According to a recent research, the NGOs still have to face a great number of challenges in managing the administrative and operational structure of their NGO. If the challenges are not met appropriately by the NGO, then the working environment of an NGO can become extremely difficult to work in.

The Relief India Trust also back this research based on their own experiences.
Further, the NGOs with unstable environment, create a negative impact on its stakeholders. It can easily lose its good reputation and the donors might not be interested to donate anything more to such unstable NGOs. One critical challenge that NGOs in India can face is that the government reserves the right to obstruct or also facilitate a certain activity initiated by an NGO. It might be due to some difficult relationships between the government and NGO. The government can also have objections with the activities of an NGO or maybe they are not doing the things the way it should be done. Further, there might also be some political interference which can force the government to obstruct or discontinue its services for a particular NGO. NGOs in any such situation are at the receiving end and their betterment is dependent solely on how the government would treat them.
At times, most of such things are beyond the control of the NGOs. The best NGOs could do is to do their best in their operational activities with full concentration on the motive. Their performance should be such that nobody could question their credibility. Further, the representative of the NGO dealing with the government officials should try to establish very friendly relationship. They should always look to update the government about all their social work progress on a regular basis and take their approval. Moreover, the NGO should also try to play its part in most of the government work that is being done for the benefit of the society. It is all about give and take. You have to give something or support the government if you want the same for yourself in return.

Relief India Trust: Addressing the rehabilitation issues

Amongst its various projects, Relief India Trust is managing a rehabilitation center for physically and mentally challenged children in New Delhi and across the country, providing underprivileged children with free treatment and transportation.
"We have a staff of over 25 professionals that include medical consultants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists and social workers. We offer medical consultations to disabled children and critical treatments like corrective rehabilitative surgeries, orthopaedic and eye surgeries and cochlear implants at various leading hospitals," said RIT's spokesperson.
Six-month old Krishna Chowdhary required an open heart surgery (arterial switch operation) to prevent consistent damage to his heart and the cost of the operation was 2, 50, 000. The family could only manage a little over a lakh. Krishna's father, Arvind Chowdhary, was advised to reach out to Relief India Trust for support.
"Doctors at Relief India Trust wrote to Escorts Heart Institute on our behalf and the response was immediate. Their goodwill and relationship with Escorts saved my child's life," said an emotionally charged Arvind, who has himself volunteered to work with the organisation to help in his own way. Free medicines are also provided for Thalassemia patients at the Kalawati Saran children's hospital in Delhi and blood donation camps are conducted to provide blood to various hospitals. The Government has also extended its support to the organisation by providing it with resources and other related benefits.
Due to a combination of poverty and absence of a rehabilitation tradition, the field of rehabilitation is still underdeveloped in India. As a general rule for developing countries, the WHO estimates that only 1-2 per cent of patients who need rehabilitation actually have access to it. There is an overall lack of emphasis on preventive, promotive and rehabilitative care. This is a bleak scenario and unless the Government and the private and the NGO sectors join hands, little will be achieved.
There are over 1600 voluntary organisations serving people with disabilities in India. They have a variety of missions such as raising awareness, lobbying, networking, research, vocational training and rehabilitation.
This is not an optimum number for an over-populous country like India. Survey has revealed that numerous charitable ideas and plans failed to take off for want of resources and Government support. The State administration could offer incentives and holistic support to emerging and prospective organisations if the deficit is to be covered.

Relief India Trust’s Place in the Society as a Community Based Organization

There are quite many community based organizations within India and the world at large, mainly non-profit operating within the grass root level in the society.  Most of such organizations are subsets of larger and international organizations such as Relief India Trust. The organizations are community based to ensure the effective address of the needs of the poor and less privileged in the society. This is essentially what Relief India Trust has done as a charitable organization to set up grass root branches that help effectively reach the members of the society in need of help.

Relief India Trust on its part, takes part in playing a very crucial role in the society by delivering quality services to the needy, including but not limited to; social welfare; educational improvement; health; community service and personal health improvement. The organization understands the need to improve the quality of life for all and for that reason is ready to partner with like-minded organizations to bring about the necessary change needed in life. So far, this trust is among the top most trusted and respected organizations that help air the grievances of the community to the government and above all, directly help the affected and needy members of the society in different ways.

It is actually through Relief India Trust’s community based organizations that the truth is informed on what the real situation is on the ground. The trust then uses this information to initiate the best strategy to carry out its operations in the best way possible so as to achieve the main objective of improving the quality of life.
Relief India Trust plays a greater role in ensuring effectiveness in the operations of the community based organizations arranged by them. They help do this in two ways;

Providing monetary support

In order for the community based organizations to remain relevant in their operations, funding is actually needed. Relief India Trust has been organizing awareness campaigns where willing volunteers come forward to donate the much needed funds in the running of various operations at the grass roots. A people-focused approach is used in organizing the fundraising and building good relationships with the volunteers even after the exercise. By enlightening community members on the role played by the organization, many people are willing to become volunteers and donors.

Non monetary support

Running of various community based organizations demand more than just monetary support. Relief India Trust on its part takes into consideration various ways to enable the organizations carry out their operations. The trust helps the other organizations by ensuring proper and effective management. This involves formation of the board of directors and committees that will help in running the organizations. The committees and board of directors are monitored closely to ensure they are doing the right job tailored towards attaining the set objective.

In order for more people to be reached by the community based organizations, more of such organizations are created by Relief India Trust in line with the special needs of people in particular communities. The unique challenges faced by the people are then dealt with in a professional way thus promoting better quality life for all.

The Gifted Hands of Relief India Trust

Sorrow calls for aid and tenderness and not curiosity- Loving tenderness of those familiar with the suffering, the cause and the possible solutions and they are willing and able to give it unreservedly. Such is the medical team by the relief India trust.
What make these wonderful individuals extraordinary is their compassion, modesty, and sensitivity. Compassion is the understanding of the suffering of the patients these media encounter, that moves them to action, all else put aside to make sure the patients get the best. In forgetting themselves entirely in the sorrows of others, they emancipate others from the very sorrow and suffering. The modesty and work ethic makes them effective in every case they handle. Sensitivity to the special needs of the patients at required times makes it even more possible to deal with the challenges. These values apparently are the epitome and the fundamental principles of the Relief India Trust organization service delivery. It is the only way in this course that can really prevail.
Love, faith and hard work overcome seemingly impossible odds that are a reality in this line of work. The love that the medical personnel have for their work and the individuals they treat is their motivation and driving force. The feeling that this honor is brought to them by the Giver of life, they draw their faith that the giver of life is also the giver of their skill and thus they+ work selflessly and tirelessly for that very honor.
Much has been achieved by the Relief India Trust through this team. Organ donations have become effective and streamline activity. The team, which is growing in number makes sure organs, is available, the patients are prepared properly and that the transplants are successful. These doctors make sure that there is a good donor recipient relationship and understanding by creating a good environment for the whole exercise. More people have been sensitized on the importance of organ donation and receipt.
Medical milestones have been achieved by bridging the gap between the doctor and the patient. Those treated have their progress monitored, response to medication is checked and counseling is given where necessary. This is through building of trust and creating a friendly environment for the patient doctor relationship. More and more people have understood and appreciated the importance of seeking medical help and shunning traditional beliefs about the disease.

Relief India Trust: Enhancing the civil society’s role!

A billion trusts run in India claiming to provide better lives to the poor. But not every Trust carries the urge to utterly change the society. It’s like a general decree, something we all follow, that we are all selfish beings at some level. Our selfishness constraints may be broadened but from the inside, all of us are self-centered. It’s rightly said that no matter what we breed, we still are made of greed. It’s most unfortunate to state, but it is fact that some of the so called relief trusts work merely for publicity and fame. They don’t acquire any love for mankind or for the poor societies, but the only thing they acquire is greed: greed of money, lame and popularity. Even if they do collect donations for the purpose of helping the needy, they never spend the money in a righteous way If someone genuinely dreams to maintain the society’s status, there are a number of requirements he necessitates tracking;

1. Realize the importance of an educated society.
2. Figure out the core hurdle in developing a civilized culture.
3. Remove the difference between classes.

Above mentioned are some of the basic essentials for evolving a sophisticated society. This task doesn’t need a miracle to be accomplished: neither a revolutionary campaigning is needed. But it only takes the purity of heart and firm determination to build a better society.
A non-profit organization, the Relief India Trust is an exceptional relief trust that helps regenerating livers. The trust realizes the importance of an educated society and follows the basic rules of faith, unity and determination. They have put their major emphasis on education and providing awareness to the poor and not just in collecting funds. Professional doctors are hired for the purpose of providing medical facilities and disease awareness campaigns for the uneducated. The trainees and volunteers at the Relief India Trust work solely for the improvement of the poor’s lives. They are not paid for what they do for the needy but their only ambition is to enhance the civil society’s role. Relief India Trust doesn’t aim to give money to some poor families and that’s it. But they aim to change the whole society. They aim to make the children rule the country. They aim to provide them the perfect education any parent could wish for their children. They have implemented various schemes for the welfare of women in Indian society. The purpose in doing so is just to make women realize their importance and encourage them to earn big names, globally.
You might have an idea by now that the Relief India Trust is the organization that helps reshape not just lives, but societies. They aim for India to gain a reputation all around the world. They aim to set an example for the whole world that unity leads a country to heights! They aim to set an example that Relief India Trust struggled and actually safeguarded the environment at global level!

Arrangement of Camps by Relief India Trust

Relief India Trust specializes in providing the needy people with every basic need which they require, and not only the fulfillment of the fundamental requirements is given to the needy people but we also put our efforts in giving awareness to the people about multiple social causes with the help of arranging camps for them. The camps that we arrange are as follows:

Disability Check up Camps: Mostly the slums and extremely poor people living in the rural areas are not sentient of how they can get the help in case of need. For such area of society, we arrange a disability check up camp, through which we provide our expert advisers and therapies regarding the mental and physical conditions of children and adults.

Organ Donation awareness Camps: Organ donation is certainly worthwhile and can save the lives of many people around you. An organ donated to a needy person can give you lots of prayers and wishes as you save someone’s life. Our social welfare organization arranges several camps to bring awareness among people regarding this social cause. At quite reasonable prices, we organize these camps to put forward the message of saving the precious lives of the people around you through the organ donation.

Children Health Check up Camps: The team of professional experts belonging to the Relief India Trust puts their efforts by checking the health conditions of many children. The purpose of organizing the children health check up camps is to give necessary guidance to the parents and guardians of the children along with their health checkups.

Blood Donation Camp: The supply of blood must be done with great care as if the organization provides unhealthy or diseased blood; it could be the cause of a person’s death. The blood donation shall not be limited to a particular society, area, individual or a hospital rather everyone shall put a little in saving the lives of several people who lose their lives just because they lack the blood and do not find it in case of emergency.

An individual of 18 and above is eligible of donating the blood; we arrange multiple blood donation camps in several areas to gather blood that could save on the life of many people. With the help of these camps we also make the people aware of how they could help us in saving the lives of many individuals. Your blood is something that you need not to buy with money; rather you get it back in a very less time. But this can certainly save the human lives Free Study Material distribution: At Relief India Trust, we also distribute free books and study materials to those who are not financially strong to afford the books.

Supporting Lives with Relief India Trust

The Relief India Trust is formed by a group of people who provide counseling and guidance to those who are in need most especially to the children who are suffering from health conditions both physically and mentally. They formed a group or an organization with the thought that they want to make sure that there is a better tomorrow even for those kids. They are around to help the kids fulfill their emotional needs. They understand that each of us needs another person to talk to, and so they are there to offer their presence and understanding. Not everyone can do this, and they know that. Being a friend to these people can be of great help already.
With all these things that are needed to do for the unfortunate people, financial assistance from other people is also needed. Just imagine yourself buying a small cup of coffee for your morning break. The amount of money that you will spend for the coffee will be so enough to give a single meal to one less fortunate person. Always remember that there are many people who can barely complete a meal in one day, so you have to be mindful of that. These poor little souls can use some of your help.
The Relief India Trust ensures that donations given by people are given to the less fortunate children. It does not mean that you have to sell things in order to donate. By just giving a small amount of financial help, you can help and make a difference.  Just a little sacrifice for these people could mean a lot to the little children who are so frustrated with life already. Let us make sure that we give them hope by giving them support. Let them know that there is still a good life ahead, and that they just have to be patient with what life is bringing them. That is the objective of the Relief India Trust. And we should be there for them to assist them and to support them with whatever they are doing now. One may check their site for up-to-date information about their campaigns.

Relief India Trust on Child Labour in India

Relief India Trust
Child Labour is an menace that continues in India even when many people raised their voices against this. Politicians makes a lot of promises before elections but no one follows them after getting seats in government. Even other officers in public system uses them rather than effort to stop this non-sense.
Actually not only system, even public who makes crowd for few days against these menaces, uses them also. When we go any kind of shop, "thela" or other, sees children are working there. But no-one raise their voice against them on the spot. Everyone discusses and sympathy for them in their home.
Come on India. If you really want to see all Indians are living happily, then we should do some effort to make them literate. Because study is the only thing to make any child's future.
At the age when kids go to school and play with friends, Munna, hailing from neighbouring Chhattisgarh, works at a roadside tea stall at Ramdaspeth throughout the day for just Rs 50. Recently, two children from Bihar - Nadim Salem and Mohammed Ikhtiyar - who were employed at a workshop for adding silk borders to saris were rescued by GRP police. Many girls hailing from poor financial background were also pushed into sex trade at a tender age or forced to marry men double or triple their age.

Children’s literature market busts many myths

Relief India Trust
Five-year-old Ayush boasts of a library of his own. It is peopled by authors, largely foreign, and characters, equally foreign. But, what's important is that he not only takes pride in his own personal library - as opposed to his parents' - but also loves to open a book on his lap on a quiet afternoon when he sees his mother do the same.
But is Ayush a rare Indian child who does not sprawl himself in front of the television and picks up a book to read instead? Popular opinion would say, 'yes', because it is generally believed that children are no longer reading as they used to a few generations ago. But if one were to ask the book world insiders, and go by sketchy industry figures, children's publishing is exploding with possibilities, just as is the case with publishing in general in the country. As far as children's literature is concerned, "the field is growing at a nervous speed each day," says Tultul Biswas of Eklavya, the well-known Bhopal-based NGO working for social change through meaningful education with a robust publication arm.
No wonder, the upcoming New Delhi World Book Fair - scheduled to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from February 15 to 23 - has children's literature as its theme. The fair director, M A Sikander, who is also the director of the organising body, the National Book Trust ( NBT) is hoping children will come in large numbers to soak up the edition of the fair dedicated to them. "Children's books have always been a huge attraction in other editions of the fair too but since this one has children's literature as its theme, we will be organising some fascinating activities for children and our young readers. For instance, the Illustrator's Corner will shed light on the very important aspect of a children's book, the illustration. Besides, we will have Ruskin Bond, the most popular Indian author who has written extensively for children, inaugurating the fair."
A big chunk of the total of 1,070 exhibitors at the fair will comprise children's book publishers, reflecting the energy being experienced by the segment in general. The scenario busts the myth that children are not reading anymore, or that children are not reading much due to easy access to alternative - and more dramatic - means of entertainment.

There are a million needy families living in the slums that severely require medical facilities. They are unaware of the importance of medical health. They do not realize that their treatment is necessary not only for their selves but for the sake of whole humanity. The people around them could easily be affected by their disease and its prevention is a must. For this purpose Relief India Trust provides free medication to the needy.
4. Awareness camps: Awareness camps regarding medics and education are arranged by the trust The camps ensure perfect awareness to the uneducated about the importance of health and education Deadly diseases like AIDS and HIV necessitate prevention and critical care The awareness camps have professional doctors who Influence the people living In slums to take steps in the cleanliness and treatment of their problems.
5. Free distribution of books camps: Relief India Trust realizes that education is the only key to success. A civilized and educated society can lead a country to heights. They have set various camps that distribute free books to the poor children.

Relief India Trust: Working with the disempowered

At noon on six days every week, Aryan, 8, makes a dash to a stall in his slum in north Delhi — and returns satiated and smiling. The reason? It is the only time he gets to enjoy a full meal for free, and is treated like the child that he is.
In another part of the city, Vishnu is studying for his exams scheduled for the next day. He is just one of many disempowered children in his locality receiving free education. Instead of a life of adversity and ignorance, he today harbours dreams of a better tomorrow.
The lives of Aryan and Vishnu — and hundreds like them — are being transformed thanks to Relief India Trust (RIT), which provides basic support structures, facilitates a better quality of life and alleviates human suffering.
In their very raw battle for survival and the daunting challenge of fending for themselves one day at a time, Relief India is a beacon of hope for the underprivileged of the country.
Says Shikha Dhawan, chief aid officer with RIT: “We respond to adversity and commit to recovery for weeks, months and even years. Whenever, wherever people are in crisis, we work with you, our donors and partners, to deliver the help they need.
“Engaging with the section of society that needs a helping hand isn't just the right thing, it is necessary, especially at a time when capitalist tendencies and selfish needs abound.”
Relief India Trust's efforts have not only made a difference to many lives, it has inspired quite a few to follow a similar calling.
Begum Noor, whose daughter was a beneficiary of Relief India Trust's 'Literacy for Adolescent Girls' campaign, wants to give back to society in her own small way.
She has set up a blackboard in her house and her daughter, now armed with education, tutors children from the weaker sections of the society.
Says Begum Noor: “We can only keep what we have by giving it away. I am very proud of my daughter and will never forget RIT's role in it.”
Community participation, education, protection and promotion of environment, and building of human capital are central to the activities of the organisation.
A variety of awareness programmes are created and shared on diseases like AIDS and cancer, for which camps are set up and run all over the country from time to time. Relief India Trust also provides managerial and technical assistance as well as training to other NGOs, governments of developing nations as well as agencies in the private sector.
“Guided by experience and expertise, we are always ready to act and respond: Emergency medical and humanitarian aid immediately moves through our strong distribution network into the hands of first responders on the ground, irrespective of race, creed or political persuasion, saving lives,” says Dhawan.IANS

Giving Back – NGO India Event: Sustainability Is Theme Of Year

Relief India Trust
India has an estimated 3.3 million non-governmental organizations (NGOs). India defeats polio, global eradication efforts advance

Relief India Trust
India marked three years since its last reported polio case Monday, meaning it will soon be certified as having defeated the ancient scourge in a huge advance for global eradication efforts.
India’s polio programme is one of the country’s biggest public health success stories, achieving something once thought impossible thanks to a massive and sustained vaccination programme.
Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, along with global groups who have been working to eradicate the virus, hailed Monday’s anniversary as “a monumental milestone”.
Smiling and flashing a V for victory sign, he added: “I think this is great news not just for India but the entire globe.”

Success and caution Despite the success, isolated polio outbreaks in the Horn of Africa and war-wracked Syria emerged as new causes for concern in 2013.
There are also reasons for caution in India, with the virus still considered endemic in neighbouring Pakistan, where vaccinators are being killed by the Taliban which views them as possible spies.
In the absence of official data, most experts agree there are several million survivors left with withered legs or twisted spines who face discrimination and often live on the margins of society.

Million of vaccinators
The country’s success was built on a huge vaccination programme that began in the mid-1990s with the backing of the central government and a coalition of charities, private donors and UN agencies.
The girl, Rukshar Khatoon, is now attending school and leads a “normal life”, although she still suffers pain in her right leg, doctors and her parents told AFP.
“She can now stand on her feet and walk, but can’t run,” her father Abdul Saha said. “When her friends play, she remains a spectator.”

Wider benefits Jafari from the WHO highlighted the immense knock-on benefits for India, which is still afflicted by other preventable diseases, widespread malnutrition and poor sanitation.
“India has now set other important public health goals as a result of the confidence that the country has got from the successful eradication of polio,” he said, citing a new measles eradication goal.

NGO asks politicians to push for child rights

Relief India Trust

Despite introducing several policies for children’s education in the country, there is a need to press for child rights, said members of TN- FORCES (Tamil Nadu Forum for Creche and Child Care Services) during a meeting held in Trichy on Saturday. They urged political parties competing in the upcoming elections to push for child rights assuring development of children.

The meeting saw people from all walks of life including parents of street vendors, who in spite of their poverty, have been sending their children to government run anganwadis . The convener K Shanmugavelayutham said there were no proper methods to monitor the quality of day care services and development of children.

The meeting also discussed the absence of kindergarten education in government schools. At a time when many of the government aided institutions are gradually implementing Right to Education, it is not a good sign to find government schools lacking in kindergarten education, which is in the reach of the poor, the organizers opined. The RTE in the country does not give an option for children to do their pre-school education and there is a need for amendment, they appealed.

The non-political organisation is now planning to take it up to the political parties as well as to the contesting candidates and voters to push for child rights. The forum will start its campaign across the 145 organisations in the country soon.
